Berbers to Boabdil

We tend to think that it has only been in our modern globalised world that ideas such as ‘interfaith dialogue’ and ‘multiculturalism’ have become part of everyday reality. However, a thousand years ago, Spain was the crossroads of the Catholic world of Western Europe, the Islamic world of North Africa and the Jewish diaspora that spread throughout the Mediterranean and beyond. While exploring southern Spain and nearby Morocco, visiting sites such as the visit Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba and the Alhambra, students will have the opportunity to examine a case study of one of the most advanced multi-ethnic, multicultural and multireligious societies of its day and its contributions to science, architecture and philosophy.
